YouTube to soon roll out with smart, adaptive advertisements

Let it be social media or anything else, we just hate ads, don’t we? Those pesky little things might not do any real harm, nor might they obstruct our viewing experience, but we just don’t want them to be there. Looks like YouTube figured out that we hate ads this much, and so it has been developing ads that would be much smarter. Now ads would be much smarter and contextualized.

For a while, we just can’t escape ads on YouTube. They come in all forms and sizes, but YouTube is planning to take it a bit further by exploring the extensions of commercials and also changing the way we usually find them on the platform.  How? Well, now YouTube will show ads based on what you are seeing, where you are seeing them, and also the purpose of watching the video.

Adaptive Advertisements

For example, if you are searching for a movie on YouTube, the service would now offer you the option of checking out the theatres that are now screening the movie at the time. This new service is accurate, geo-localized and is also potentially changing the way advertisers are partnering up with the service, and also on how users would be seeing ads.

That is just not it. There are also now other extensions that would allow you to do much more. Other extensions include features that would allow users to go ahead and book a trip when they are watching videos of vacation spots or must-visit places. These updates sound exciting, and though the company has not yet announced an official date on these services, we can expect it very soon.

Smart Advertisements

These new features are also expected to be extended to other spaces of the platform too. Considering the interest that the service shows to creators, ads might also be partnered with creators, and that would mean a whole new way of seeing ads.

Comparing the way the service shows ads today, these new changes are actually welcome. Though we might dislike ads, if the way they are shown is improved, then the overall way of using the platform also gets better. The current method of advertising on YouTube is very direct. It is relevant for those who are ardent users of social media as almost all the links lead directly to a form of social media.

With these changes, we can be sure that the internet would appreciate such an approach to advertising.
