YouTube manually reviewed over a million suspected terrorist videos
After the terrorist attack which happened in New Zeland, the nations are putting intense pressure on social media platforms to control the content that violates the policies. It’s pretty unimaginable for the social media platforms to control content which is being widely spread of social media sites like Facebook, Instagram or even YouTube.
Social media giants are working hard on developing innovative solutions to automatically spot patterns within content that violates their policies. Facebook and Twitter have achieved a fair stage considering the freshness of the technology. Google mentioned that the company is spending “hundreds of millions of dollars” with over 10,000 employees to counter terrorism.
YouTube team manually reviewed over a million videos which are suspected to be terrorist videos and 9% of them (approximately 90,000) are being removed due to policy violations. The company is putting a lot of efforts and budget to counter terrorism.
