Upcoming low-cost iPad’s might not have Face ID
Apple switched the device unlocking technology from touch ID (fingerprint-based) to Face ID (facial recognition) approximately at the launch of iPhone X. Just like every other Apple product, the criticism was fully into the Face ID technology and now it looks like Apple is seriously implementing Face ID in all of their devices including the iPad Pro.
But for students and iPad enthusiast, this news could be something unsatisfactory. Reports from AppleInsider hints that the upcoming 4 variants of low-cost iPad’s might not have Face ID integrated to it.
iOS 12.2 beta version codes partially prove the rumor but also establishes the fact that these devices will be equipped with Touch ID to unlock the device.
iPods & iPad
There is also a rumor about the new iPods which definitely deserves an upgrade. Even though the news about iPods isn’t confirmed yet, the clue about iPad seems stronger.
Code analysis by the AppleInsider team has a partial idea about the upcoming low-cost iPad which cannot be simply labeled as a rumor. The idea is clear and the upcoming iPad might not have a Face ID. Apple shouldn’t be doing this, because coming up with new devices that still keeps the old technology doesn’t make any kind of sense (and that’s definitely not the right method to make a product go cheaper on the market).
