Souk just got rebranded to Amazon.ae in middle east
Amazon bought the souk.com in 2017 which was the largest online retailer in the UAE. Souk, which was the most trusted e-commerce platform for the middle east customers is now being rebranded as amazon .ae. It definitely expands the trust base because if Souk is the most trusted e-commerce store in UAE, Amazon is the world’s most trusted e-Commerce store.
As a part of Amazon’s expansion, rather than entering the market competing with brands like Souk, Amazon decided to purchase the company and then rebrand it for some important reasons. Amazon is promising a personalized experience within the website just like any other “old-school” Amazon web design. They also have a plan to expand the customer base towards other Gulf countries as well. Hopefully, the Arab nation is going to enjoy some really good offers.
