Sony Launches New Range of SD Cards to Take On SanDisk

SD Cards might have been the main way to store media and files just a few years ago, but it is not completely out of sight. In fact, phones that offer expandable storage are still looked after. But one might feel that with technology updating almost everything around us, SD cards have been left behind. Though that might have been true of the past, it is not so for the future.

SD cards have been the main source for storing media and files, and Sony has just made the best upgrade. Sony has introduced the world’s most resistant and fastest SD card range, named TOUGH. To start with, the SD card is tough! The card can withstand some pretty heavy falls, and there would still be no damage. If just that is not enough, one can even try to twist and turn the SD card, but there would be no change, and the card would remain intact.

This SD card range from Sony is protected from X-rays, UV rays and also extreme and unsuitable temperatures. This range of SD cards is also water and dust resistant too. But one might ask, why does the average smartphone user need this much of protection? Well, these cards are not for the average user. Instead, it is for those adventurous ones who need to carry storage in very difficult situations.

Extreme Cards

But these cards are not just tough! They have some pretty good performance inside their thick shell too! These cards offer users a speed of 300MB/s of writing and 299MB/s of reading. To put that into comparison, that is 10 times the speed of a basic SD card. This much speed allows professionals to save heavy content pretty easily, and would also allow them to transfer or share content without the need for compressing files.

Fast Processing

These cards come in 32GB, 64GB and also 128GB capacities. These SD cards truly prove to be one for all the ones out there who demand speed and performance, but also at the same time want an SD card that can withstand pretty brutal attacks and still run effortlessly.

Till this moment, SanDisk was doing a pretty good job with enhancements in the SD aspect, but now it seems like Sony has taken over the race. But if Sony wants to top the market, it must also keep in mind that SD has already released the Terabyte version, and that is a pretty big deal. And so one must remain glued to see the next step Sony might take to combat this.
