In a conversation with the marketing manager of Wi-fi alliance Kevin Robinson, he mentioned that right now it is very unlikely for the whole industry to adopt a new standard all of a sudden. But he is sure that this would be adopted in stages, and it would end up benefiting both consumers and also the industry. An ideal win-win situation.
Router manufacturer companies that have teamed up with this alliance also feel that once used, the difference can be seen very clearly. And that is exactly what the Wifi alliance is hoping on happening.
