Google’s Artificial Intelligence Comes Out First In Fortnite
Artificial Intelligence is overtaking every single industry out there, and there is nothing there to stop it. But there might a change regarding that. Google’s AI is especially showing the way, and it has already come out against all the other artificial intelligence software out there.
But it seems that Google isn’t happy about that, and it decided to take it up another level. Google pitched up its AI against real players in Fortnite, one of the most trending and played games right now. The AI was taught just the basics. Just the rules, and nothing else. So one might think that with a game like Fortnite that requires a lot of skills and movements, how can an Artificial Intelligence win?
Turns out that Google’s Artificial Intelligence won. Set against real players, the Artificial Intelligence was put on random servers and was made to play for 24 hours. So, how did the Artificial Intelligence learn the game? Whenever it was killed it was shifted to another server, and so it learned the game very fast in just a single day.
Learning Process
These 24 hours were just sparring sessions, though. The game was up for its first match in 24 hours, and it has not won a match ever since. The AI learnt everything that it needed to be the best at the game. The Artificial Intelligence learnt how to kill lagging or slow players, how to build cities and a whole empire, and also learnt various strategies from observing other players.
So the more it played with other players, the more it learnt about the game. It learnt all the necessary tactics and strategies to emerge as one of the top players of the game. But such a title is something that is a bit early.
Playing
But, why Fortnite? First off, the game needed to be an online multiplayer game so that it can compete with other players. The game also had to be complicated. And boy is fortnite complicated! Though the game is popular, it hard to learn and play the game.
The Artificial Intelligence has been released only through a few servers, and plans are on to make the Artificial Intelligence be opened to almost 90% of the servers. Such plans right now are still being considered, and such a decision would be taken only and only by the CEO, Sundar Pichai.
