Google will pay $11 million to settle age discrimination law suits
Google has hired some bad recruiters which are turning out to be a bad deal for Google. The company has faced lawsuits from candidates stating “age discrimination” as the primary reason and it turned out to be true. Back in 2015, Robert Heath filed a case against Google when he found out that on a phone conversation the Google engineer was indirectly pointing towards his age.
Another candidate called Cheryl Fillekes was also interviewed and was not recruited due to age issues as she mentioned. The company has decided to pay off $11 million in lawsuits to over 227 people. The giant will also train the management and recruiters with a strict policy to make sure this doesn’t happen again with Google. It looks like Google hired bad recruiters in the first place.
