Google To Release A New Major Redesign of Smartwatch UI
Google has come out with the latest version of the Wear OS, and it is something that does not even resemble the previous versions of Wear OS but is still so fresh and cool at the same time. The latest version of the operating system does not go by Android Wear, its old name. This time, the software is all about getting easier access to notifications, and also to get the maximum out of the Google Assistant, and also smarter health coaching.
As it is already clear, this time Google Fit would be playing a much larger role in the operating system, and judging by the screenshots and GIF’s, this is the perfect mash-up between Google Fit and the all-new material design. This time too, Google Fit is getting an update, and now there is a whole new feature that focuses on gamification.
Easy Functions
Now, with just a swipe, one can get access to health goals, or a screen that motivates you to begin the workout. This same design has also been implemented in the Google Fit mobile app as well. But the whole focus is not on health alone. Notifications are also playing a key factor this time.
Notifications can now be accessed by just sliding up. And if a notification is time sensitive, then an option to send an intelligent answer would be shown. There is a small hint of AI too, in this feature. Google claims that with this feature, users would be able to access more useful features and shortcuts like Google Pay or Find my Mobile.
Tough Competition
And there are a couple of major UI changes as well. Now, the Google Assistant can be much more proactive with the way the watch functions primarily. Right now, users can just glance over their watch, and they would find information that pertains to their time or location. Users can also tap on smart suggestions, and information like weather of destination and location of a nearby restaurant would pop up.
This whole new update is being expected to be rolled onto users in the coming week, and so better make sure that your watch is all prepped up and ready to get the big update! These features from Google can now very well be taken against the Apple Watch, and now Apple must figure out a way to fight back against the company.
