Google One Released To Replace Google Drive
It’s been a while since Google announced the Google One, the subscription program that includes Google Drive storage among various other perks. Though the news sounded exciting, it actually took a while for Google to actually implement the program. But fortunately, it is nowhere.
Over the last few weeks, many Drive subscribers were rolled into the new Google One program, and new users can now sign up for a Google One subscription today. Though there are perks, the price is definitely not one of them. The Google One plan starts at a 100 GB for $1.99. But there are other major plans as well. One can get 200 GB for $2.99, and a 2 TB option is also available for $9.99.
Storage Plans
Now if even this is not enough, there are also plans for 10 TB, 20 TB and 30 TB plans that range from $99.99 and a whopping $299.99 per month. Though this might remind you of the old Google Drive, here come the perks. One can share this storage, and allot it with up to five family numbers. Google One’s main feature is not just storage but is also access to a live 24/7 support.
So if you are someone who is not that familiar with the technology, or if you encounter any issue, there is always a human on the other end to solve the problem. Note, not email, and not a machine, but a professional who can help you figure out any question or query you might have.
Now if you consider that price is a bit steep, there is another good news too. With Google One, one can also find hotel deals on Google Maps, and all Google One members would also get credits on Google Play. The company would also soon offer deals to members of the Google Store through Google Express.
Smart Storage
Google One, for the time being, would now remain as a consumer product, while Google’s G Suite would remain as the go-to service for businesses. This service is available only in the U.S for now, but the company has not given a timeline on when will this service be available for other markets for now.
This move by Google is seen as an attempt to gain further users as many refrain from using Google Drive due to its complexity, and also the cap on the number of users who can use an account. This new program would be much more easy to use, and with technical support and the feature to add more number of users included, this is a program that is perfect for families and individual users who prefer on having data available anywhere anytime.
