Apple to Partner with Volkswagen to bring autonomous vehicles.
Apple is building an autonomous car (or some kind of an autonomous vehicle). Well, their old project called “Titan” sounds like a failure because Apple couldn’t really build an efficient hardware (it’s hard to believe though).
But Apple really wants to bring their self driving cars to the roads (not just in their campus). It’s pretty understood that the vehicle which is being proposed by Apple is minimal in looks and beautiful in performance, but are they trying to compete with brands like Tesla and Waymo?
Recently Google Launched Waymo, which is a self driving car company and their vehicles drove over 5 million miles without a driver (that’s pretty cool).
Google launched Waymo in Google IO 2018 and it was a very interesting launch with a bunch of innovations and interesting facts they had to talk. If companies like Google, Tesla & Apple is showing serious interest in building autonomous cars, then you should really think about the future.
Volkswagen
Well, after consulting with BMW and few other brands, Apple has come to a conclusion. Volkswagen will build the hardware of the upcoming autonomous vehicles from Apple and the engineers at Apple will do the software and design.
Silicon valley is getting much better with all these brands competing each other with their brilliant innovations and solutions. Recent controversy about Tesla car accident made Elon Musk talk about the threats of giving more intelligence to machines like a car.
It does sound creepy, but the future is all about self driving cars and there is no question about that. At least within 5 years time, there will be lots of self driving cabs running around US (that’s something you can fix it).
Well, the Volkswagen engines are smokey, but this time it’s going to be electric so that’s kind of sorted out.
