Google Announces Native Foldable Screen Android Support

Everyone is pretty excited about Samsung’s new foldable phone, and all the features that such a device would hold. And given the history of smartphones, that is bound to be a trend. A company releases a feature, and other companies are bound to follow it too. And knowing just that, Google has introduced native foldable device support in Android.

Now, what is that? Basically, one can now watch a movie on a folded screen, but when unfolded, the video can be resized and seen in a bigger format. Google is also working with exclusive hardware manufacturers, and for now, that means Samsung. Now how can we be sure of that? Not just Samsung, but even Google stepped up to announce that Samsung would be releasing its foldable phone soon.

 New Feature

Now, does this mean that Google is playing nice by giving Samsung the upper hand? Far from it. Google has repeatedly implemented features that Samsung used to come up with. May it be split-screen views or picture-in-picture modes, Samsung always had it. This gave Samsung the upper hand in everything, and it also gave the look of a copier.

But Google was always too happy to bring device-exclusive features to all phones. And now Google is also playing the defence. With already readying its software, Google is thus showing that it is now ready for any device to come out with any screen, but Google would be there with open arms to support it.

Native Support

The tech committee has loved this new outreach by Google, and though Google might have done this with several reasons in mind, it also shows that as a company, Google loves its customers, and it wants everyone to enjoy the best of what technology has to offer without sticking to a single device.

And that is something that Google has always been about. Many companies have been successful in restricting software and features, but not Google. Even if Google tries to push an exclusive feature for its Pixel phone, someone somehow turns up to bring this feature into mainstream phones and devices.

And with Samsung’s new release, we figure it will be just months before everyone hops on into the foldable screen trend. And they have to. Because if Samsung does it, then you need to do it too.
